The DFB encourages members to participate in event administration as
well as lure coursing activities, both formal and informal. Formal
lure coursing positions include; Field Chairman, Field Secretary, Field
Clerk, Huntmaster, Lure Operator, Inspection and Measuring Committee,
Paddock Master (view full AKC position description at:
http://www.akc.org/registration/rules/relure.cfm?page=4). The DFB
provides training for formal positions and participation does not
interfere with coursing (field officers rotate duties during the event
so that they can course their hounds). In addition to formal
positions, many informal tasks need to be performed for each successful
event. For example, pulling the trailer, setting up and tearing down
the course, organizing the concession table, and many other
miscellaneous tasks need to be performed for each event. Event
administration adds a rewarding dimension to the coursing experience.

Club rules require prospective new members have a current DFB member
sponsor their application. If you already have a sponsor, please have
him/her complete the following section. If you are new to the DFB
club, bring this application to a DFB practice, field trial, or meeting
and the club will assign you a sponsoring member.
